Luscinia megarhynchos
More often detected by its distinctive song than seen. Slightly larger than a robin with light brown wings with a rusty red tail and pale undersides.
Habitat: associated with woodland particularly where there is plenty of undergrowth. Can be associated with coppice woodland, wooded heaths and scrub.
Distribution: mostly found south of the Humber in the east and Bristol in the west. Highest densities are in the south east of England.
