Redwings are migratory birds. They are winter visitors to most parts of the UK.

Nature’s Calendar monitors how early or late redwings arrive in the UK in the autumn/winter.

In a location that you monitor regularly (at least once a week), record the date in autumn/winter that you first see a live, active redwing after their summer absence from the UK. This is usually from mid-September.

Available historic data: we have good data for the following years; 1906-1913, 1922-1957 and, 1961-1999
