Oenanthe oenanthe
In flight the tail appears to have a black T-shaped marking. In the male the bold black stripe goes through the eye to the cheek. In females the stripe does not extend beyond the eye. Both have a narrower white stripe above the black, a pale grey crown and buff under parts.
Habitat: open countryside, moors, heaths, dunes and grassland.
Distribution: breeds in northern and western Britain.
