Meadow foxtail
Alopecurus pratensis
Height: a tufted grass up to 120 cm in height.
Leaves: hairless green leaves.
Flowers: the inflorescence forms a single compact cylindrical spike (2-13 cm long) which is soft to the touch.
Distribution: widespread and common, found in meadows and grasslands preferring damper areas.
