Record first leaf when the leaf is fully open and recognisably the shape, if not the full size of the adult leaf. 

If you have recorded hawthorn events before, continue to record on the same shrub.

Expected Date Range: mid-February to mid-April 

Available historic data: we have individual records from 1753-1810, and good records from 1849-1954, and 1976-1999
