Rook
Corvus frugilegus
Both sexes are black all over with ragged feathers at the tops of the legs. The long pointed bill is grey at its base.
Habitat: found over farmland and trees with plenty of woods and trees. Rooks feed in flocks, returning to a shared roost.
Distribution: resident and common in all but the very north of Scotland.
