Winter buds: reddish brown colour, sticky, arranged in opposite pairs.
Leaves: compound, opposite, 5-7 toothed, stalkless leaflets.
Flowers: male and female white flowers arranged on upright spikes.
Fruit: conkers in spiny cases.
Distribution: park and garden tree.
