Common frog
Rana temporaria
Adults are usually olive-green or yellow-brown but colour varies. They have smooth, moist skin, with a brown patch behind the eyes and a pointed snout. They tend to jump rather than crawl.
Habitat: adult frogs are found in damp areas within 0.5km of a suitable freshwater breeding area.
Distribution: found throughout UK.
